What is Badminton?
Badminton is a fast-paced racket sport played by two (singles) or four players (doubles) on a rectangular court divided by a net. Players score points by striking a shuttlecock so that it lands within the opponent's court.
- Objective: Win rallies by making the shuttle land in-bounds on the opponent's side.
- Scoring: Best of three games to 21 points. Rally scoring—every rally yields a point.
- Serve: Underhand, diagonally into the opponent's service box.
- Court: Singles is narrower; doubles uses the full width.
- Equipment: Lightweight racquet, shuttlecock (feather or synthetic), court shoes, and optional accessories.
